Have you been told that you have halitosis/bad breath? Once someone makes it a point to call you out on your breath, it can be difficult to regain that self-confidence, even with a bright white smile. If you’re concerned about your breath then consider the following pieces of advice from your Sea Ranch Lakes dentist:
- Brush your entire mouth, including your tongue at least twice a day. Some people forget that brushing your tongue should be part of your regular oral hygiene routine. Your tongue will harbor lots of bad bacteria unless you brush it routinely.
- Floss at least once a day. Flossing gets out all of the leftover food particles and removes plaque, the bacteria that build around your teeth and cause bad breath.
- Drink more water. Bad breath can be caused by dry mouth, so an increase in your water intake will likely improve your bad breath.
- Gargle with HOT WATER or an antimicrobial mouthwash to kill plaque-causing bacteria.
